First blog of many.....
Welcome to the Schlegel blog! Karl and I thought that starting a blog would be the perfect way for all of our family and friends to keep in touch with us as move over to Italy for the next three years with the US Marine Corps. Over the next couple weeks, we will update the blog with all events that have happened in the past few months...getting married, honeymoon, selling our house, and so much more- be sure to stay posted for all the updates! Then starting in August, you'll be able to try and keep up with us as we travel through Europe and start a new life there.
We are leaving at the end of the month and still have so much to do and so many people to say goodbye to (not our favorite part). We hope that over the next few years, everyone continues to check up on the blog and also keep us in touch with what's going on back here in the states and with your own lives! If you ever just want to get away, remember that Italy is only a plane ride away and that we're hoping for lots of houseguests!

so glad you got a blog! it really is true- people say they stay in touch with us through our blogs and that way when we see people we don't have to tell them whats been going on the last year since we've seen them. now it is two way for us- you and i can stay in touch even when cell phones don't work and we only have a minute to check the blog!

Hey guys! We miss you around the neighborhood. Not the same since you both left. :( Everyone is doing well! Neil has a new job, where it doesn't involve his back (woohoo!), Steph turned 4 yrs old 2 wks ago, and little Sophie is starting to make herself known thru little kicks! Keep us posted as much as possible...and send pictures of beautiful Italy, too! Love you guys!

We miss you both so much! I was ecstatic to see that you have already started blogging. I am so excited that we will be able to keep in touch. My sister and I took our first trip to N.J. last week with Logan and Vivian. A 10 hour trip turned into a 15 hour trip, but my parents were so excited to see them. Logan is loving his classes at The Little Gym and has met several other young children his age. He is pulling up on everything and trying so hard to walk. Time flies! I just started my next graduate class this past Monday. It requires 4 hours of work each day. Not so much fun! Outside of that we are just hanging out with friends and trying to maintain sanity in our busy lives. Have great fun in Italy!

It was great to see you guys today at the office. I love all the pictures on the blog site. They are great! Laura - you are right! I would have an aweful time leaving Boo, he is so adorable!!!!!!!!! I am sure Karl's parents will give him plenty of love.
